Sundance Vacations Inc: Marvin Metzer Delivers Quality Expertise

Marvin and his wife, Angela, reside in Mountain Top, Pa with their three children. He earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University and an MBA from Lehigh University. Upon graduation from Bloomsburg, he joined the national accounting firm, Laventhol and Horwath, a top-ten CPA firm. While in public accounting, he earned his CPA license and specialized in the hospitality and leisure industries, along with manufacturing, health care, and banking. He left public accounting to join a fast growing retail and wholesale travel company, Tenenbaum’s Travel. He was first the Controller, and then later was appointed to CFO. The wholesale division grew to be one of the largest suppliers for Disney, USAir, and Hertz Rent-a-Car. After graduate school, and brief stint as a consultant in Florida, Marvin joined Wise Foods as the Manager of Financial Reporting and Analysis. In 1997, a partner at Levanthol and Horwath recruited Marvin to join a start up marketing company, Cooperative Images. In 2001, Marvin decided to return the travel industry and joined Dowd Marketing/Sundance Vacations as the CFO. Here at Sundance, Marvin has helped in developing administrative and accounting systems. In addition to this, he has played an integral part as the primary liaison with the new software vendor that was used to develop the web-based Attitude software. Marvin is also an active member in his community. He served as the President of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Jaycees, President of the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association, and is presently the President-Elect of the Mountain Top Kiwanis. He also coaches his son’s little league team and assists with the Crestwood Elementary wrestling program. Luckily, Marvin’s two daughter’s love for field hockey has allowed him to enjoy some traveling time. He joins field hockey tournaments with vacations such as, the National Field Hockey Tournament in Virginia Beach, the National Field Hockey Tournament in Palm Springs, and the Keystone Games. His other passions include golfing and fishing.
