Sundance Vacations Reputation: John Dowd Delivers Quality Expertise

John was born in Sunbury, Pa. He attended Shikellamy High School and went on to study engineering at Penn State. Even as a young boy of 14 he was ambitious. He held two newspaper routes and a lawn mowing contract with the city of Sunbury. He met his wife Tina in 1988. They have 3 daughters. He has been both a soccer and basketball coach. His interests include traveling (betcha’ couldn’t guess that), NASCAR racing, Penn State Football and golf.

As President of Sundance Vacations he has led the expansion of the company from one office in Pocono Lake, Pa. to a national conglomerate before the age of 42. In addition to his active family life, he attends and participates in many business and industry conventions including the American Resort Developers Association conference, the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers conference and the World Business Forum. Due to his business experience and engineering background John also serves on the board of a defense contracting company.

The employees of Sundance Vacations are inspired by the founder’s commitment to philanthropy. John is a donor to many local charities including; Volunteers in Service in our Neighborhood (VISION); the Luzerne Foundation and Volunteers of America. The company also sponsors many local little league and booster club sports teams in addition to many local and national charities.
