Candy Bednar, VP of Business DevelopmentCandy Bednar, VP of Business DevelopmentCandy Bednar, VP of Business Development, began her own professional development with Sundance Vacations when she started her career as a telemarketer in May of 1993. She stumbled upon the company when set out to look for a part-time summer job. After three months as a telemarketer, she left the company and returned to college to finish her final semester and to complete her student teaching requirements. Candy earned a BS degree in Education from Bloomsburg University, with a minor in Social Studies and a concentration in Sociology. Candy rejoined the Sundance family once again after graduation in January of 1994 for a part-time evening telemarketer position while she was also employed by several local school districts in the area, serving as a substitute teacher for 4 1/2 years. After just one month upon her return to Sundance, she was recognized with a Telemarketer of the Month award and promoted to an inbound telemarketer. She served several roles as needed in the marketing department for the following three years including confirmations and managing the phone room for a short period of time. In September of 1997, Candy was asked to try out the collections department which was a newly developed team of just one other employee. Five months later as the department grew in size, she was quickly promoted to Collection Manager. In 2004, she was honored with a Manager of the Year award. She supervised the collections department for a total of twelve years, developing and implementing policies and procedures relating to servicing delinquent accounts and evaluating the portfolio. Her strong work ethic, creativity, and drive recently steered her into yet another advancement at Sundance Vacations where she now serves at the executive level as VP of Business Development. Her challenges are to test and implement new ideas while working with all facets of the company's continuous developmental process. Candy is well known for making herself readily available to whomever or whatever may show up at or on her desk, but if you try to find her when she is out of the office it might be a little more difficult to track her down. She has a strong passion for adventure and travel. On her time off she would most likely be found sight-seeing historical landmarks, test-tasting some exotic dishes, or deviling into some exciting cultural celebration or tradition. She has visited some extraordinary places in her travels such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Egypt, Fiji, France, Greece, Hawaii, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Mexico, Morocco, Spain and many other interesting places. She has also been on several cruises. Candy loves cruising as she believes it is the best opportunity to visit as many places as possible in a short period of time. But, her favorite part about cruising is those one or two days at sea where you literary have nothing to do except, eat, sleep, and relax! Her two dream vacations are: an African Safari and an Antarctic Cruise. She plans on hopefully doing both someday in the near future! |
